DK Metcalf injury update: Steelers WR exits Week 12 vs. Bears

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver DK Metcalf suffered an ankle injury in the second quarter of Sunday’s Week 12 road contest against the Chicago Bears. Metcalf, announced as questionable to return, has since reentered the game for Pittsburgh.
Fortunately, it looks like Metcalf avoided anything serious. He’ll play through it, and that’s good news for the Steelers.
Metcalf has just two catches for nine yards against the Bears. He came into the game Pittsburgh’s leading pass-catcher by a healthy distance — 37 receptions for 551 yards and five touchdowns.
The 27-year-old is in his first season with the Steelers, acquired from the Seattle Seahawks this past offseason. Pittsburgh then signed Metcalf to a four-year, $132 million contract.

The Steelers are notably playing without quarterback Aaron Rodgers. The 41-year-old is dealing with a fracture in his left wrist. Mason Rudolph is starting his first game of the season, with rookie Will Howard serving as his backup.
Rudolph has held up well to this point. He has completed 10-of-11 passes for 86 yards. His lone incompletion was an interception. The Steelers have a 21-14 lead with halftime approaching.
