Dolphins offensive lineman Bayron Matos taken to hospital via helicopter following practice injury

The Dolphins are back on the practice field, looking to strive towards a successful 2025 season. However, their first time hitting the field at training camp didn’t end on a happy note.
According to the franchise, offensive lineman Bayron Matos suffered an injury near the end of the session, and had to be transported to a local hospital via helicopter. While the severity of the injury wasn’t revealed, Miami said that Matos is in stable condition.
“Dolphins OL Bayron Matos was transported to a local hospital by helicopter after suffering an injury at the end of practice today,” Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network posted on X. “Team says he’s in stable condition.”
The Dolphins offensive lineman is a former basketball player. He played at New Mexico and South Florida before making the move to football. As part of the NFL’s International Player Pathway Program, the Dominican Republic native signed with the team last season, spending time with Miami’s practice squad.

Meanwhile, there’s some other drama in Miami as well, as Tua Tagovailoa and his relationship with Tyreek Hill can certainly be classified as murky going into training camp. He said it was a “work in progress.”

Hill, following a Week 18 loss during the 2024 season, said “I’m out bro.” Safe to say, that didn’t sit well with Tagovailoa, considering his star wide receiver gave cryptic comments about his future with the team.
But, Hill is back with the Dolphins in 2025 and ready to get to work. It’s not all sunshines and rainbows between Tagovailoa and Hill though.
“When you say something like that you don’t just come back with ‘My bad.’ You gotta work that relationship up,” Tagovailoa said, via Wolfe. “He is working on himself.”
Hill caught just two passes for 20 yards on three targets during that final game last year. The 31-year-old finished the 2024 season with 81 receptions for 959 yards and six touchdowns. The yards total are Hill’s lowest since the 2019 season when he recorded 860 yards in 12 games with the Kansas City Chiefs. The TD catches are tied for the lowest of Hill’s career.
