Dolphins' Tyreek Hill won't face discipline from NFL for marina incident

The NFL will not punish Dolphins star Tyreek Hill for an altercation he had earlier this summer at a Miami-area marina.
The Miami receiver allegedly hit a marina employee during what Hill described as a “disagreement.” This was back in June. Miami sports radio host Andy Slater reported that Hill slapped an employee on the back of the head. The Miami-Dade police department investigated the incident. But no charges were filed.
In July, representatives of Hill and the marina employee issued a joint statement.
“The parties to the incident which occurred on June 18th, 2023, at the Haulover Marina involving Tyreek Hill have resolved their differences,” read the statement issued by both Evan Feldman, the lawyer for the marina employee, and Julius Collins, Hill’s rep.
Here’s some more background on what happened. The incident began unfolding early in the evening on Father’s Day. About an hour before sunset, an employee of a local fishing company said he spotted two men fishing for tarpon off a dock. One of those men was Hill. Two women joined Hill and the other man and boarded a private boat. That’s when the problems started.

The South Florida Sun-Sentinel obtained a supplemental police report a few days after the incident. According to a redacted report, the boat’s captain and Tyreek Hill got into an argument. The boat captain discovered him on board the boat. Then, according to the report, Hill told the captain “I can buy you and the boat.”
The captain told police that Hill “became enraged and attempted to enter the boat to cause him bodily harm but was held back by unknown associates.” The captain said Hill told him he was “No. 10 from the Miami Dolphins.” So the captain said he figured out the man was Tyreek Hill.
A marina employee walked over to the boat to check out what was happening. The employee said that’s when Hill slapped him on the back of the head. Hill eventually apologized.
The Sun Sentinel said surveillance video backed up what the boat captain and employee told police.
NFL officials wait until the legal process finishes before they decide if punishment is necessary.
