Eagles DT Jalen Carter gets epic tattoo across torso, arms ahead of 2025 NFL season

Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Jalen Carter is a Super Bowl champion and now, he’s got a new tattoo to go along with it. But this isn’t just any tattoo, and the process to get it done wasn’t normal.
Carter’s new ink is a full torso piece that stretches across his arms. It features an angel, eagle, gorilla and lion with a street sign that reads “Apopka,” the Sunshine State city he grew up in. Carter had to go under anesthesia for the tattoo artists to complete the piece.
Carter, 24, appears more than ready to kick off his third NFL season. The former Georgia standout has been a disruptive force on Philadelphia’s defense, tallying 75 combined tackles, 20 tackles for loss, 25 quarterback hits, 10.5 sacks and four forced fumbles.
Carter finished second in 2023 AP Defensive Rookie of the Year voting. Last season, he made the Pro Bowl and finished 12th in AP Defensive Player of the Year voting. He followed up his strong 2024 regular season with a stellar postseason, in which he recorded two sacks in four playoff games on the way to lifting the Lombardi Trophy.

Jalen Carter one of several former Georgia stars on Eagles’ roster
Carter is one of eight former Bulldogs on the Eagles’ roster, 2025 fifth round pick Smael Mondon the latest to join the team. General manager Howie Roseman has had success drafting Georgia players and explained why it’s a winning recipe.
“You know incredibly detailed program,” Roseman said at the NFL Scouting Combine in February. “Obviously they have a history of winning. You know when you look at it when you add new players and you add this many new players from one place, they also know how to play off each other. They have a chemistry that normally you have to cultivate through your team and through years of practice and so you get a head start and then you’re talking about.
“Really putting into place one of the greatest defenses in the history of college football, and you know they play with an edge, they play with the mentality and you know Kirby [Smart] does a phenomenal job.”
