The first big impact on the NASCAR Truck Series Playoffs just happened. Ty Majeski and Grant Enfinger were involved. On Lap 4 at Talladega, the pushing was too much. Enfinger got a weird push from Chandler Smith, and he was wrecking from there.

ThorSport took heavy damage in this incident. Ty Majeski, Jake Garcia, and Ben Rhodes were involved. Add in Grant Enfinger and Daniel Hemric taking minor damage, and the NASCAR Playoff picture has completely changed.

Coming into the race, 2nd to 8th were separated by only 6 points. Now, the playoff picture has dramatically changed with Enfinger as a DNF and others with damage.. It wasn’t long before the race had restarted and Layne Riggs was wrecking.

Chandler Smith was once again involved as the truck pushing. This race is going to get wilder before the finish.

So, we have a driver in the NASCAR Playoffs out of the race. There are multiple playoff trucks with damage that are still turning laps. It’s only been a single stage and there has already been so much chaos in this race. Talladega does not show mercy.

Grant Enfinger is going to take the biggest hit. He is going to be in must-win territory next week at Martinsville. Ty Majeski is not doing great on points either, and has major damage. Daniel Hemric is also going to be in a tricky points situation next week if he can secure a solid finish today.

A lot has happened already, and truthfully, it has all benefitted Corey Heim. If I’m the driver of the 11, I don’t mind all of this happening as long as it stays behind me.

NASCAR Playoffs take major hit in opening laps

To have this much damage in the first stage of a playoff race is major. It changes everything. The points battle was so tight and any mistake from any driver was going to change it completely. Now, we’ve had mistakes and issues with multiple drivers, which complicates things even more.

To end the stage, Rajah Caruth took the 10 points. That is going to set him up nicely as long as he keeps his truck going straight. These truck drivers are always pushing and shoving and you never know when it is going to be one too many.

The NASCAR Playoffs drivers who took damage can still recover. There is no reason to panic completely, but things are going to be very difficult for those drivers involved in the first two wrecks of this race.
