Former Ohio State corner Eli Apple has been the subject of many jokes on social media the past few years for his propensity to get burned. On Sunday afternoon against the Buffalo Bills, he got the last laugh and in a big way. Apple made a game-sealing pass deflection in the fourth quarter, essentially sealing the game for the Cincinnati Bengals. Cincinnati won the game in a 27-10 beatdown, thanks to an impressively dominant performance on both sides of the football–offense and defense.

With 4:42 remaining in the fourth quarter, Apple decided to celebrate on the Bengals’ bench on the sidelines, as to mimic, “We spanked them.”

Check out his ridiculous celebration, which distracted CBS sports’ play-by-play man Jim Nantz during the broadcast.

Indeed, Apple and the Bengals did have the last laugh on Sunday. Of course, the Bengals’ offense was spectacular as always. Apple racked up six tackles and one pass deflection in the playoff game Sunday.

The Bills’ offensive line simply could find no answer for the Cincinnati defensive pressure they brought from a variety of positions. Bengals’ corner Mike Hilton had another impactful performance. He continued to make a name for himself as the best blitzing slot corner in the National Football League.

With the win, the Cincinnati Bengals officially punched their tickets to the 2023 AFC Championship Game against the Kansas City Chiefs–a rematch of last year’s contest. They’ll face off on Sunday, January 29th. Kickoff is slated for 6:30 PM EST.

The Bengals’ offensive line, surprisingly dominated on Sunday. Cincinnati rumbled for 172 total rushing yards on 34 carries, including 105 yards from their superstar back Joe Mixon. In the first half, the Bengals racked up 275 total yards, with 90 of those coming on the ground. The 275 yards allowed were the most allowed by the Buffalo defense in any half all season long.
