Dan Orlovsky didn’t mince words on Dak Prescott — he believes the Cowboys quarterback is playing some terrible football at the moment.

While Dallas has been winning games, they’ve largely relied on their defense and running game to do so. In the past, the former Mississippi State star has been in MVP talks, but the 2022 season has been far from his best.

During an appearance on Keyshawn, JWill & Max following a shocking loss by the Cowboys to the Washington Commanders, Orlovsky tried to make sense of what he called the worst game of Prescott’s career.

“Not right now,” Orlovsky responded, asked if Prescott was playing well. “Yesterday was the worst game I’ve seen Dak play, and this is the worst season I’ve seen Dak play. Everybody has made this big deal and I’ve said this for like two and a half months now, the consistency of the ball going to the wrong place is concerning. It’s disturbing. It’s alarming. Everyone’s like, ‘Oh, they’re the No. 1 offense in the NFL since Dak’s come back.’ Guys, watch the games. Don’t just look at the stats and the box score.

“There’s so many opportunities for the ball to go to the other team on a consistent basis. Everyone’s like, ‘Look at Dak get to No. 4 in the progression.’ He’s an NFL quarterback. Yeah, congratulations.”

Dan Orlovsky and the rest of the media knows Dak Prescott is better than what he’s put on tape in 2022. Whether it’s injuries or not finding his groove, the Cowboys quarterback needs to play better in the playoffs if they’re to make a run.

If not, there will be more questions than answers regarding his future, and the Cowboys will finish the season in disappointing fashion once again.

Dak Prescott shares blunt evaluation of his game versus Washington

After notching his seventh straight game with an interception on Sunday, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott provided a starkly blunt assessment of his play in the 26-6 loss.

“Sh***y, not to use the language but it was exactly that,” Prescott said of his night, and the team’s overall performance. “The defense gave us a chance. We put them in bad positions, us and special teams did. … I think the defense did enough, obviously.

“But, for offense, just completely not who we are. I don’t think I’ve seen us like that, damn sure not in the last two years. It’s something that, as much as you want to burn the tape and move forward, there’s a lot that we’ve got to learn from. Use this tape.”

The former Mississippi State star went 14-for-37 on Sunday and his 37.8% completion rate was the worst of his career. His only other game below 50% this season was in the opening loss versus Tampa Bay where he injured his thumb.
