After Bubba Wallace finished P2 in last night’s NASCAR All-Star Race at North Wilkesboro, an individual got onto his radio channel. The person was somehow able to access the channel following the race and let off with a derogatory message toward the 23XI Racing driver.

According to Jim Utter of Motorsport.com, NASCAR is investigating the incident. Officials are trying to understand how this was allowed to happen. Bubba Wallace was not on the radio. The driver did not hear the comments himself and did not acknowledge the incident either after last night’s finish.

The message relayed over the radio was “Go back to where you came from you a******. You’re not wanted in NASCAR.”

NASCAR has confirmed at this time that there is a security operation in place. They will investigate the incident to figure out who was on the radio. They are also determining how they were able to access the channel.

The whole incident puts a damper on what was a good night for Bubba Wallace and the 23XI Racing team. They didn’t come away with the win, which is all that really matters in the All-Star Race. But finishing P2 and P3 to Kyle Larson isn’t the worst result. It is just unfortunate that it had to end with someone making gross remarks on Wallace’s radio.

Bubba Wallace embraced the boos at North Wilkesboro

While no one should have to deal with racist remarks on their radio or anywhere for that matter, one thing Bubba Wallace does well is to shake off the haters. He even looked like he had a little bit of fun with the fans before the All-Star Race on Sunday.

During driver intros, Wallace knows he’s going to get a wall of jeers and boos. Instead of shying away from it, the driver gave it right back and did a little taunt to the crowd.

Overall, this was a race that Bubba Wallace enjoyed. After the finish, he was able to find some joy in it, and even crack some jokes. Wallace is even in favor of returning to North Wilkesboro for a points-paying race over 400 laps. So, it’s safe to say he’s got the itch after the NASCAR revival.

There was also a moment after the race where Bubba Wallace let his middle finger fly for a second. That still remains a mystery. Let’s hope that moving forward the radios stay clear and Wallace can just do his job and do it in peace.
