Fight breaks out between Giants, Commanders after Marshon Lattimore suplex

A fight broke out in the first quarter of the New York Giants and Washington Commanders game Sunday. With the Commanders leading 7-0 at home, the Giants proceeded to drive down the field to try and tie things up.
There were helmets ripped off, a body slam and more! That’s right, tensions were boiling as Marshon Lattimore suplexed Wan’Dale Robinson.
You can see the initial sequence below. After the original video, there’s a replay of Lattimore throwing Robinson to the ground as the whistles blew.
Lattimore was penalized for unnecessary roughness, but there were no ejections in the game. At the end of the first quarter, the Giants had 4th and Goal from the three-yard-line, still trailing 7-0.
Giants, Commanders fight leads to penalty, field goal for New York
Despite a fresh set of downs following a penalty, the Giants were held to just a field goal, cutting the lead 7-3. Rookie Cam Skattebo had a few carries on the drive, signaling an emerging role for the Giants RB.

The Giants saw a breakout season for Skattebo in 2024, rushing for 1,711 yards and 21 touchdowns in 13 games for ASU. In the Peach Bowl, Skattebo rushed for 143 yards and two touchdowns, caught eight passes for 99 yards and threw a touchdown pass. He became the only player in the country with 1,000+ rushing yards and 400+ receiving yards, even though he missed a game.
He finished with over 500 receiving yards for the season, which put him in even more exclusive company. Skattebo was the first player in the Big 12 to ever have at least 1,500 rushing yards and 500 receiving yards in the same season. He was the first player to accomplish the feat in Division I since Christian McCaffrey did it in 2015.
Even in a loaded running back class in 2025, Skattebo still put himself in rarified air. He had four games with 200+ scrimmage yards this year, tying him with Omarion Hampton (North Carolina) for the second most in college football. Boise State’s Ashton Jeanty ranked first, with seven games. As a receiver, he hauled in 45 catches for 605 receiving yards.
The Giants rookie also finished fifth in the Heisman Trophy voting. He finished the 2024-2025 campaign with 338 total touches, 2,316 total yards and 24 total touchdowns.
