Former Penn State wide receiver Jahan Dotson became the fifth wide receiver off the board in the 2022 NFL Draft when the Washington Commanders selected him in the top 20 after trading down. Just a few days later, the team released the first look at his jersey and number.

In a set of pictures posted on social media Sunday afternoon, the Washington Commanders unveiled Jahan Dotson’s 1 jersey, which had been vacant on the team roster. The team has not yet released the full list of numbers for incoming players.

Jahan Dotson jerseys are now available on the team’s website also, although they will not ship until after the number is confirmed by the NFL.

Dotson joins a new-look offense for the NFL team with a new name, coming in to provide quarterback Carson Wentz another option alongside established star Terry McLaurin. The Commanders also bring back running back Antonio Gibson and wide receiver Curtis Samuel with tight end Logan Thomas to help compete in the NFC East against the Cowboys, Eagles and Giants.

Jahan Dotson contract details revealed

A lifelong dream now turns into generational wealth as Spotrac revealed the details of his rookie deal with the team.

According to Spotrac, Jahan Dotson should sign a four-year with the Washington Commanders worth $15 million after his selection. The deal would also include an $8.1 million signing bonus and a fifth-year team option, as all first-round picks do.

The deal is also fully guaranteed and includes a 2022 cap hit of just $2.7 million.

The 5-foot-11, 178-pound wideout ran a blistering 4.43-second 40-yard dash and is coming off of his best season yet with 1,182 yards and 12 scores. For his 91-reception performance as a senior, he earned third-team Associated Press All-American and second-team All-Big Ten accolades.

Dotson initially committed to UCLA coming out of high school as a four-star prospect. He was the No. 196 player in the country, according to the On3 Consensus, and ultimately decided to stay close to home with the Nittany Lions.
