Former NFL QB Ryan Fitzpatrick becoming NASCAR fan amid Michigan race weekend

Ryan Fitzpatrick is becoming a NASCAR fan and wants to attend a race in person. The former NFL quarterback and current league analyst for Prime Video went to X/Twitter to say he’s planning to attend the NASCAR Cup Series race at Pocono after watching the Michigan race.
“Loving NASCAR right now!!!” Ryan Fitzpatrick wrote. “Gotta go see a race in person before [NASCAR on Prime Video] season ends… looks like I’ll see you guys at Pocono.”
Before making that post, Fitzpatrick asked Jeff Gluck of The Athletic a question about which driver he should support. “Any advice on picking a driver Jeff?” Fitzpatrick wrote. “My youngest son is all in on [Ryan] Blaney because he won last week Was looking for a driver with a thick beard but they all seem to be well groomed…”
Will Ryan Fitzpatrick join the NASCAR on Prime Video coverage?
It would be cool to see Ryan Fitzpatrick part of the NASCAR on Prime Video broadcast since he’s a fan favorite on the network’s NFL coverage. The 42-year-old joined Prime Video in 2022 after playing 17 seasons in the NFL. Fitzpatrick works as a pregame, halftime and postgame analyst for Prime Video’s Thursday Night Football with host Charissa Thompson, and analysts Tony Gonzalez, Richard Sherman and Andrew Whitworth.

During his playing career, Fitzpatrick played for multiple teams but spent most of his time with the Buffalo Bills (four seasons). He holds NFL records for most teams to have started the for (nine) and most consecutive games with over 400 yards passing (three). In 166 games, Fitzpatrick threw for 34,990 yards and 223 touchdowns.
In October, Fitzpatrick announced on The Sports Media Podcast with Richard Deitsch that he signed a three-year contract extension with Prime Video. “I probably would have played until I was 60 years old, but I had a hip injury in Washington, which kind of forced me to think about other things and the end of my career,” Fitzpatrick said on the podcast, per Sam Neumann of Awful Announcing. “It just so happened that Amazon was starting Thursday Night Football, and I got on a phone call with them. I knew I was not going to go into coaching at the NFL level just because I’ve got seven kids. I respect what coaches do, and I wouldn’t be able to commit fully to being a great coach, at least at this point in my life.”
