Former Oklahoma star Jalen Redmond delivers dominant performance at 2023 NFL scouting combine
Former Oklahoma star Jalen Redmond could see his stock rise ahead of the 2023 NFL Draft. He put together quite the performance at the NFL scouting combine in Indianapolis on Thursday.
Redmond opened some eyes with his 40-yard dash, running a 4.85 in his first attempt of the day along with a 1.71 10-yard split. He also turned in a 34.5″ vertical jump and a 9.8″ broad jump as scouts looked on.
His official measurements came in at 6-foot-2, 291 pounds with a 32 5/8″ wingspan. That could get him in conversation to hear his name called during April’s draft rather than getting signed as an undrafted free agent.
Redmond put up some solid numbers over at Oklahoma, totaling 71 tackles, 31.5 tackles for loss and 14 tackles over four seasons. He opted to sit out the 2020 season, but came back to play two more years for the Sooners under Lincoln Riley and Brent Venables.

Thursday at the 2023 NFL Combine was all about defenders as defensive tackles, defensive ends and then linebackers and edge rushers kicked off the on field workouts. To start, it was the defensive tackles hitting the 40 yard dash.
There was a lot to learn, from a few sub-five second runs to some guys who turned in slower times. One notable prospect expected to test well, Michigan’s Mazi Smith, did not run or participate in drills due to a hamstring injury.
While no one running on Thursday was going to set any records, they did give decision makers one of the first in-person looks as pro prospects. All the times included are unofficial.
