Frank Gore is ready to see the Sunday Night Football matchup between the San Francisco 49ers and Atlanta Falcons. On3 recently caught up with the former 49ers running back, and he weighed in on the two running backs — Bijan Robinson of the Falcons and Christian McCaffrey of the 49ers.

“I’m looking forward to it because they also trained this all season to get together, so you know the competition going to be real high,” Frank Gore told On3. “That’s like when me and Shady [LeSean] McCoy used to play against each other because we trained. I wanted to outshine him so bad, he wanted to outshine me so bad. But this week I want Christian to go do his thing, like he always will, like he always do, and I want our young home defense to go shut Bijan down, man. Bijan, probably one of the top guys in the NFL right now. But we slow him down, I think we get a W.”

Robinson and McCaffrey are two of the top playmakers in the NFL. Through five games, Robinson has rushed for 484 yards and two touchdowns, while catching 24 passes for 338 yards and one score. In six games this season, McCaffrey has rushed for 336 yards and one TD, while catching 46 passes for 333 yards and three scores.

Frank Gore is ‘excited’ to be working with Lowe’s

As Gore mentioned, if the Falcons’ defense can’t slow down McCaffrey, the 49ers should come away with a victory. However, Atlanta enters the game with the top rushing offense and total defense in the NFL, and that’s a big reason the game will be a must-watch for fans.

And for the fans who will be attending the game at Levi’s Stadium, Gore will be part of a pregame celebration hosted by Lowe’s. The company will have it’s Earn Your Sunday trailer outside the stadium where fans can play Madden, earn giveaways, and hang out with Gore, who played for the 49ers from 2005 to 2014.

“It’s great because I worked with Lowe’s before when I was in Miami at the Super Bowl, like seven years ago,” Gore explained. “And Lowe’s been great to me, but I’m excited. I’m excited about this Sunday. Me talking to Lowe’s, now I know every Sunday they’ll have the trailer to come to every city on Sunday Night Football. But the main one, the best one going to be this Sunday out at Levi’s Stadium when we play Atlanta, man. So I’m excited to be out there. I’m going to be there.”

Gore later added, “Make sure everybody come out, leave our stadium before the game. Come hang out with me at the tailgate. We’re going to have a great time. We’re going to have food, free food, drinks. We got the trailer to play video games, and we just have a good time before the Niners go handle their business.”
