Frankie Muniz provides recovery update after wrist injury, timeline for NASCAR return

Possibly good news for Frankie Muniz and his NASCAR fans. The actor-driver will be back behind the wheel this season. Muniz broke his wrist at his home in a fall off a ladder while doing chores. It has sidelined him for weeks.
Today, Frankie Muniz is sitting out once again while Tyler Tomassi pilots the No. 33 Ford for Reaume Brothers Racing. However, he provided an update for fans wanting to see him on the track once again.
Muniz has missed out on races, and that’s the last thing he wants to do. This New Hampshire race could possibly be the last one he misses.
“Hopefully today is the last [NASCAR Truck Series race] I’ll be watching from my couch this year. Hoping I’ll be healed up for the Roval, if not, see you in Talladega,” Muniz wrote on social media.
Frankie Muniz has had a few solid runs for Reaume Brothers Racing this season. That is a team that isn’t expected to do much week to week. Mechanical issues and random wrecks have bitten Muniz throughout the season, but his passion remains the same.
We have seen Muniz do well at drafting tracks in ARCA and the Truck Series. If he is back for Talladega, it would be a great chance to have a good result coming off the injury.

Reaume Brothers Racing has done its best to keep drivers in the truck while Frankie Muniz has been recovering. It seems they won’t have to wait too much longer.
Frankie Muniz plans to return after a month of recovery
It was back on August 28th when Frankie Muniz made news of his wrist injury public. If he is able to return by the Roval, that will be just over a month of recovery between the injury and racing again. That’s an impressive turnaround for any driver, let alone a 39-year-old.
Muniz has been making the NASCAR thing work as best as he can. He isn’t in great equipment, and has kept himself from putting his own money into the endeavor. While it helps to have the name recognition that he has from his acting career, Muniz has had to piece together sponsorship like any other driver.
A couple of more weeks and Frankie Muniz might be back in the driver’s seat. We will see how quickly he bounces back from the injury, and how he responds to a road course will be very telling.
