Garrett Wilson injury update: Jets WR appears to avoid serious ailment, may still miss time
According to ESPN’s Rich Cimini, New York Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson avoided a serious knee injury during Sunday morning’s game against the Denver Broncos. However, Wilson is still likely to miss some time over the next few weeks. Not the news the Jets needed amid some offensive struggles.
“WR Garrett Wilson underwent an MRI today and appears to have avoided a serious knee injury, per source, but it probably still means some down time,” Cimini said via X. “Worth noting that the #Jets have two more games (CAR, at CIN) before their bye. Perhaps that factors into the timetable.”
Wilson got eight targets in London, resulting in just three catches for 13 yards. It’s the fourth-lowest receiving total of his career in a single game. By far the worst of the 2025 season, reaching at least 50 yards in the previous five games and scoring a touchdown in the previous three.
Cimini did not exactly lay out how long Wilson will be out. However, he did highlight the next two games before the Jets take a bye week. This will be the first time Wilson has ever missed a stretch of games, playing in all 51 in his first three seasons.
“I don’t really want to speak on that right now, to be honest with you, because I don’t really know what it is,” Jets head coach Aaron Glenn said on the injury. “Today, I’ll have a better understanding of that and I’ll let you know on Wednesday. But it’s always a concern when you lose one of your better players, I will say that.”

New York is back from across the pond, sporting a 0-6 record. Every single other NFL team has gotten at least a win to this point. But as of now, the Jets are still searching for their first one. As Glenn hinted at, losing one of your team’s best players does not help the cause.
At least on paper, a few winnable games are coming up on the schedule. Carolina got an emotional win on Sunday, carrying some momentum into Sunday’s game. From there, struggling Cincinnati, Cleveland, and Baltimore pop up before the calendar turns to December.
Everyone in the building will be hoping to get Wilson back in the near future. Glenn is in his first season as the franchise’s head coach and wants to build something. Wilson being a part of it all is massive for the Jets.
