Geno Smith injury update: Raiders QB exits in 4th quarter of TNF vs. Broncos

Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Geno Smith suffered what appeared to be a leg injury in the fourth quarter of Thursday’s Week 10 road contest against the Denver Broncos. Smith went into the blue medical tent for evaluation.
Kenny Pickett finished out the drive for Las Vegas, seeing one third-down snap. Smith came out of the tent during Denver’s next offensive drive and was seen warming up on the sideline. He returned for the Raiders’ next possession.
To this point, it’s been a tough night for Smith and the Raiders. Until Smith’s first-down completion with 12:48 remaining in the fourth quarter, he had not completed a pass in the second half. Las Vegas trails 10-7, last scoring on its second drive of the game.
Geno Smith has struggled in 2025
Smith, 35, is in his first season with the Raiders, who acquired him this past offseason from the Seattle Seahawks. He came into Thursday’s game having thrown for 1,701 yards, 11 touchdowns and 11 interceptions on 67.2% passing. Smith is tied with Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa for the league lead in interceptions.

Going up against the NFL‘s No. 3 ranked defense in Denver, Smith knew that the offense would have its hands full. That’s exactly how it’s played out.
“There’s a great pass rush on every single defense in the NFL. And protecting our guys up front with getting the ball out, not holding it too long, is very important,” Smith said Tuesday. “And it’s important that our guys are running their routes and getting to the spots. The protection is critical up front, and then obviously me being accurate with the ball, getting it out on time and on rhythm, allowing us to succeed and be at our best self.”
