George Pickens to wear No. 13 jersey number with Dallas Cowboys

The jersey number for new Dallas Cowboys wide receiver George Pickens has been revealed. Per Jon Machota of The Athletic, Pickens will wear No. 13 for the 2025 season.
George Pickens wore No. 14 during his time with the Pittsburgh Steelers. For the Cowboys, the No. 14 jersey belongs to safety Markquese Bell. Linebacker DeMarvion Overshown wore No. 13 last year but will wear No. 0 this fall. Another notable Cowboys player to No. 13 was wide receiver Michael Gallup, who was with the team from 2018 to 2023.
Pickens is ready to do big things in Dallas after having three strong seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers. While speaking to reporters earlier this month, the former Georgia Bulldogs wide receiver talked about putting in the work every day to help the Cowboys make a Super Bowl run.
“I’m gonna take it one day at a time,” he said, per the Cowboys’ official website. “Everybody in the world is working on growing and bettering themselves. I feel like growth is me moving in a great direction and coming to the Cowboys. … Working every day. That’s how you build a winning culture in any sport. I’m gonna be working every day.”

Will George Pickens be the next Dez Bryant?
Cowboys COO/co-owner Stephen Jones believes Pickens can have the same impact as a legendary Cowboys receiver. “Here you get a guy who’s got experience, has had great success in the NFL, obviously a tremendous competitor, he reminds (me) a lot in our building of Dez Bryant in terms of his competitiveness, what he brings to the field, his edge,” Jones said.
“[Bryant] just couldn’t get enough. And boy, when the lights came on and his cleats hit the turf, he was a different guy. And it feels like George is going to be that way.”
The Cowboys traded for Pickens on May 7 and sent the Steelers a third round pick next year and a fifth round pick in 2027. In each of his three seasons with the Steelers, Pickens had at least 50 receptions and 880 yards. His best season was in 2023 when he caught 63 passes for 1,140 yards and five touchdowns.
