Georgia TV station has unfortunate typo on Michael Penix Jr. press conference chyron

A TV station in Savannah, Georgia, had an unfortunate typo on its press conference chyron for Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Penix Jr. On its broadcast, WTOC accidentally misspelled Penix’s last name, as it had an “s” instead of an “x.”
In the clip, Penix discussed the fight he was involved in during the Falcons’ joint practice with the Tennessee Titans. He is the Falcons’ new starting quarterback for the 2025 season, replacing Kirk Cousins, who signed a four-year contract with the Falcons last year.
After the Falcons signed Cousins, they selected Penix at No. 8 overall in last year’s draft. Michael Penix Jr. started the last three games for the Falcons last year and posted a 1-2 record, with both losses coming in overtime. Overall, Penix played in five games in 2024 and threw for 775 yards with three touchdowns and three interceptions.
“The fans got a little taste of what it could possibly be, and I think we’re going to strive for that every game now,” Falcons wide receiver Drake London said about Penix in January, per AtlantaFalcons.com. “[In the] offseason, we’ve got to get after it and get right, because we want to get into the postseason and start playing for something real.”

Michael Penix Jr. is ‘going to be ready’ for the 2025 season
“The trust that this staff has in this young player to be able to execute some of those things is probably a little higher just because of who the guy is,” Falcons head coach Raheem Morris said about Penix. “The poise, his attention to detail, to be able to explain it to him very calmly from the headsets, from the field, to watch him know that he’s got to get this ball up and down in five seconds so we can kick this field goal if we didn’t get the completion.”
Penix is not scheduled to play in the Falcons’ next two preseason games, but he said he’ll be ready to go when the regular season kicks off next month. “I’m always going to be ready,” Penix said this week, per the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “That’s my job, to be ready whenever Week 1 comes. In college, you didn’t have (any) (exhibition) season (games). It’s like, you’ve got your spring game and you’re going into Week 1. It’s the same thing. I’m going to be ready Week 1. Whenever it counts, I’m going to show up. I’ll be there.”
