Gio Ruggiero wins Talladega pole, full NASCAR Truck Series qualifying results

Upsetting his teammate, Gio Ruggiero has won the pole award at Talladega for the NASCAR Truck Series race later today. Ruggiero has won eight poles this season and is searching for his 11th win of the year.
Gio Ruggiero gets the pole award over Corey Heim. It is an impressive performance from the young Tricon driver, and he will have a great view when the green flag drops.
No practice, but two rounds of qualifying since it is a superspeedway. Ruggiero used that second round to get one over on Heim. I don’t know what the deciding factor was between the first round of qualifying and the second, but whatever it was, it worked. 17 truck on top.
Ty Majeski is going to share the front row with Gio Ruggiero. Corey Heim and Matt Crafton are on the second row. This is going to be an intense race. These drivers know what is at stake. Not just for those in the NASCAR Playoffs, but everyone in the field. Winning this race could be the big break a driver needs to secure a ride next season. So, everyone is going to give it their all.
As for Layne Riggs and Parker Kligerman, they will drop to the rear at the start. Riggs was penalized for an unapproved adjustment. Kligerman’s team had to fix something on the 75 truck after qualifying. So, both drop to the back. Full qualifying results below:

Gio Ruggiero looking for first career win
The one thing on Gio Ruggiero’s mind is a win. He is not among the eight playoff drivers in the race, but he has a lot to compete for. That first career win would feel sweet at Talladega. It is one of the most iconic venues in racing and any kind of win is notable there.
Ruggiero is going to play the role of spoiler today. Ty Majeski would love to get a win. Corey Heim would love to win just to block someone else from getting a win and a trip to Phoenix in the Championship 4. The points battle is insanely tight with 2nd through 8th separated by only 6(!!!) points. That is a margin that can change quickly in a matter of one or two laps at Talladega.
During his time in the grassroots ranks, Gio Ruggiero earned a ton of respect as a racer. He showed a lot of promise in ARCA and is now hoping to break through in the Truck Series. There are some in the NASCAR garage who believe he can develop into a legitimate talent.
