Green Bay Packers reveal throwback uniforms for 2025 season

The Green Bay Packers are preparing for their upcoming season. However, ahead of kickoff, the franchise is taking it back to its very beginning with a new, yet old-school, uniform for this year.
On Thursday, the Packers revealed a new throwback uniform for this fall. They’re inspired by their unis from back in 1923, which goes back to nearly the beginning of Green Bay’s history as a franchise.
“Returning to our roots,” the Packers captioned their reveal.
Green Bay is going into its 105th season as a team, having been around since 1921, spending one season originally as part of the American Professional Football Association (APFA) in 1921 before the league was renamed as the National Football League in 1922. Over that century, the Packers are 810-604-38 with 13 championships won, including four in their five appearances in the Super Bowl in I, II, XXXI, and most recently with XLV in 2010.
Green Bay opened training camp on Wednesday ahead of the next season. That’s with the Packers coming off their best record in three years at 11-6, led by Top 10 units on offense and defense, but being eliminated in the NFC Wild Card as they finished just third in what was a stacked standing in the NFC North in 2024 with the Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings.
The Packers didn’t announce when they’ll wear these unis over the course of this season. It’ll be quite the throwback when they do, though, as they go back to their team’s inception back in the 1920s.

Packers’ recent roster moves coming into training camp
Going into the start of training camp for the team on Wednesday, Green Bay made a pair of front office decisions. That started with the release of kicker Alex Hale on Monday. Then, later that day, the Packers signed offensive tackle Zach Tom to a four-year, $92 million contract with an all-time signing bonus being part of that deal.
Hall was formerly an undrafted free agent. He then signed onto the Packers’ practice squad during training camp a year ago as part of the NFL’s International Player Pathway Program with him being a native of Australia.
Tom is then the starting right tackle for Green Bay after being drafted by them as a fourth-rounder in 2022. He has been the team’s starter at that spot on the offensive line since 2023, with his new contract set to kick in after this upcoming season in 2026.
