Ahead of their Week 18 matchup with the Detroit Lions this week, the Green Bay Packers have made their injury report available from Thursday’s practice. David Bakhtiari was listed as a limited participant in Wednesday’s walk-through practice but did not take part in Thursday’s practice as he continues working back from a knee injury.

Packers vs Lions Wednesday injury report

Did Not Practice – Packers: T David Bakhtiari (Knee), DL Kingsley Keke (Illness), TE Mercedes Lewis (NIR – Rest)

The additional time off helps tackle David Bakhtiari however, as he continues to attempt his return from an ACL tear that has kept him out for nearly a full year. Without Bakhtiari, the Packers fell to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFC championship game last year but have the best record in the NFL this season.

Bakhtiari made a comeback to practice earlier this year but was quickly moved back out of the practice lineup as he wasn’t ready to come back just yet. The early week estimation shows Bakhtiari could be returning to practice in limited fashion, but there will be no new information until Friday.

The Packers have not made a decision on him being available just yet, but if he’s ready it may be worth having him play in a game before the playoffs start to knock off any rust.

Limited Participation – Packers: QB Aaron Rodgers (Toe), LB De’Vondre Campbell (Elbow), RB Aaron Jones (Knee)

Rodgers’ toe has continued to be a constant source of pain for the MVP quarterback but has still not held him out each week. The Packers have already secured the No. 1 seed in the NFC heading into the playoffs. With no real incentive to play against the Lions, it will be worth watching to see if the Packers rest anyone on Thursday’s injury report.

The counter-argument for resting Rodgers or any other starters is that they would have a three-week break before their first playoff game. Not to mention the veteran says he wants to play, and with offseason drama apparently in the rearview, there is no reason to bring up another issue.

Fellow starter Aaron Jones was limited on Wednesday and Thursday but is expected to be available against the Lions if they need him.

Full Participation – Packers: TE Dominique Dafney (Ankle)

Reserve tight end Dominique Dafney returned as a full participant on Thursday, a good sign for the Packers who have dealt with some rotation at the position and added veteran Mercedes Lewis to the injury report as a resting player late in the season.
