Earlier today, Corey Heim tied Greg Biffle for most wins in a single NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season. The 9-win club has two members. Biffle set the record in 1999, and it took 26 years for another driver to match that historic mark.

Greg Biffle is a NASCAR legend. The Biff was happy to welcome young Corey Heim to the club. Now, he’s watching for Heim to break the record in the next four races.

Heim has been good all year, but the last month has been on a different level. From somewhere tropical in the world, beer and lobster in his hands, Biffle congratulated Heim on his big win at New Hampshire.

When you’re a young driver and getting compared to or are matching records of someone like Greg Biffle, it’s a big deal. Everyone knows that Corey Heim is ready for the Cup Series. He’s even shown comfort in the Cup car that you don’t really see from other young drivers at the moment. It’s been very impressive to watch.

However, it’s going to take time for Heim to get to the Cup Series full-time. His lack of personal funding and partnerships with sponsors puts him in a tough spot. His sponsors are pretty much entirely through team partnerships. However, Heim’s talent has shown that he is a can’t-miss prospect. Still, he’s likely waiting until 2027 to get into Cup full-time.

Corey Heim matches Greg Biffle during historic season

No one has been close to as good as Corey Heim in the NASCAR Truck Series this season. The only comparison in the sport this year is Connor Zilisch in the Xfinity Series. You could argue that Heim has been dominating the season for longer than Zilisch.

Greg Biffle was a star during his time in NASCAR. When he was coming up through the Truck and Xfinity Series, he was a young superstar. The Biff earned his fair share of fans through all of those races that he won in those series. Then, he went to Cup and kept winning.

While Heim likely wishes he could just skip ahead to the Cup Series, today should be a great reminder. When Biffle was winning his nine races, he was 30 years old. He would have to wait a few more years to go Cup racing full-time. Heim is 23 and everyone knows he’s going Cup racing sooner than later.
