Horn falls from jumbotron, nearly hits players in Hawks vs. Timberwolves

A horn from the jumbotron at the Target Center in Minneapolis fell onto the floor during Monday’s game between the Minnesota Timberwolves and Atlanta Hawks.
As the horns went off signaling the end of the first quarter, a metal horn fell just feet away from Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert. Nobody was hit by the falling horn, though it did startle Gobert, teammate Naz Reid and those who were close to its landing spot. The Timberwolves took a 28-20 lead into the second quarter.
Timberwolves, Hawks heading in different directions
This is just the latest of strange happenings at the Target Center over the years. First, there was “Glue Girl,” who glued herself to the court protesting the killing of birds at an Iowa farm owned by Timberwolves majority owner Glen Taylor. Then earlier this season, two women wandered onto the court to promote a new cryptocurrency. Both were immediately tackled and taken away by security.

As of the third quarter, the Timberwolves are in complete control against the Hawks. Minnesota, looking for its third consecutive victory, sits at 24-21, occupying the seventh seed in the Western Conference. The Hawks are in a slide, riding a four-game losing streak entering Monday’s contest.
Atlanta is heavily shorthanded with guards Trae Young (hamstring) and Dyson Daniels (ankle), as well as forwards Jalen Johnson (shoulder) and Larry Nance Jr. (hand) all sidelined with injuries.
