Irate Austin Hill confronts Daniel Dye following Atlanta Xfinity race: 'Flip me off again motherf***er'

Austin Hill had some choice words for Daniel Dye following last night’s Xfinity Series race in Atlanta. It was a frustrating night for the Richard Childress Racing wheelman, and he took it out on the Kaulig Racing driver.
Evidently, Dye flipped off Hill during the Focused Health 250. Afterwards, Hill found Dye on pit road, warning him not to show him the middle finger again, and calling him a motherf***er before walking away. You can check out the video of the confrontation below, shared to X (formerly known as Twitter) by Frontstretch.
Part of Hill’s frustration might’ve been his P26 finish. After starting on the front row, he certainly didn’t expect to be stuck in the back of the pack when the checkered flag waved. Dye, on the other hand, notched a top ten, finishing P8.
The moment is the latest in a long line of confrontations Hill has had in the Xfinity Series. The 31-year-old isn’t one of the more popular wheelman in the garage, and he’s made his fair-share of enemies. It looks like Dye is on that list.
Many will think Hill’s actions are ironic, as he stood up and made his voice heard when the Xfinity Series received a ton of flack for not racing with respect after a trip to Martinsville earlier this season. Some, Dale Earnhardt Jr. included, thought it was funny that Hill of all people was the one to speak on the matter.

“We are the best racing in NASCAR, and I strongly stand behind that,” Hill stated earlier in 2025. “That we are the best series in NASCAR. Just when you go to Martinsville, we look like we don’t know what we’re doing. So, we’re going to get through it. We have whatever it is, seven, eight months before we go back to Martinsville. I’m hoping a lot of things change between now and then. I don’t think that just one meeting is going to change the outcome of the playoff race in Martinsville.
“So, it might be one of those cases where we need to have multiple meetings throughout the year just to reiterate some of the stuff. Even if things aren’t happening on the racetrack. Say we’re all racing clean and we’re all doing the right things. But I think we gotta keep it in everyone’s head, you know, race the way you want to be raced and race with respect.”
As you can tell, Austin Hill didn’t feel like Daniel Dye gave him the proper respect, and he let him know swiftly about his thoughts. Whether the Kaulig Racing driver cares or not remains to be seen. Hopefully they’ll be racing near one another next weekend in Chicago.
