The Jacksonville Jaguars and Cleveland Browns have come together for a late night trade.

The Jaguars are reportedly sending cornerback Tyson Campbell and a 2026 7th-round pick to the Browns for cornerback Greg Newsome and a 2026 6th-round pick. The two teams previously swapped the No. 2 and No. 5 picks in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Both Campbell and Newsome have played in all five games for their teams this season. Campbell had recorded 22 tackles, one forced fumble and six pass deflections for the 4-1 Jacksonville Jaguars. Newsome, playing for the 1-4 Browns, has recorded 18 tackles and three pass deflections this season. Campbell’s contract could have played into the trade, as the Jags signed him to a four-year, $76.5 million extension ($53.4 million guaranteed) in July 2024.

Ahead of the Trade Deadline (Nov. 4), the Browns have been extremely active with trades. Last week, Cleveland traded for LT Cam Robinson. They then dealt quarterback Joe Flacco to the rival Cincinnati Bengals on Tuesday and have now hauled in Campbell.

Campbell was selected with the No. 33 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft and has played all five of his NFL seasons with the Jaguars. In 60 career games, the Georgia alum boasts 297 career tackles, three forced fumbles, 42 pass deflections and six interceptions.

Much like Campbell, Newsome has also played his entire career with the team that just dealt him. He was selected with the No. 26 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft (seven picks ahead of Campbell) and has played in 59 career games for Cleveland. He has recorded 178 career tackles with one sack, three interceptions and 37 pass deflections.

These organizations have gone in complete different directions this season, as the Jaguars look to be perennial playoff contenders while the Browns have been completely disappointing. Campbell now heads to a Cleveland defense that is allowing 247.8 YPG (second best in NFL) and 24.6 PPG (21st best in NFL), while Newsome heads to a Jacksonville defense that is allowing 348.3 YPG (23rd best in NFL) and 20.0 PPG (8th best in NFL).
