A big statement for Jake Garcia and his ThorSport team. The No. 13 truck will start on the pole tonight at Bristol Motor Speedway. The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Playoffs continue. Can Garcia have the race of his life to advance to the next round?

This is the third time that Jake Garcia has won the pole award this season. He has shown great speed in qualifying, and it is a big part of why he is a playoff driver this season.

Now, Garcia and his team have to focus on how to finish the job. A win would not only be a first for Garcia’s career but would also lock him into the next round of the playoffs.

Jake Garcia did well in his last two races from the pole. P2 at Rockingham and P7 at Kansas. Since that Kansas pole, Garcia has only had three top-10 finishes. Perhaps he can turn things around with the night race today. Of course, everything goes through Corey Heim.

Corey Heim will start P2. Daniel Hemric was the worst of the playoff trucks in qualifying at P11. Clay Greenfield was the only DNQ. Full results below:

The Truck Series Playoffs are heating up. Tonight is the second race of the Round of 10. Drivers will be doing whatever they can to get points and make themselves have a comfortable elimination race at New Hampshire.

Of course, a win for any of the playoff drivers will mean a ticket to the next round. Corey Heim can block a driver from advancing by taking the win tonight. He would also push his win streak to four in a row. His domination of the season will likely continue.

Jake Garcia has improved in NASCAR Truck Series

At 20 years old, Jake Garcia is starting to come into his own in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. He has shown a definite improvement this season. He has already tied his career-high in top-10 finishes.

There is no doubt that Garcia had a better first half of the season than second half. He is going to try to get back to his early performances like his P3 at Martinsville or P2 at Rockingham. Earlier in this season at Bristol, Garcia was P7.

Tonight is going to be a test for Garcia and all of the other playoff drivers. Bristol is a track that no one wins at by accident. You have to earn it. Could tonight be the night for Garcia or another driver?
