Philadelphia Eagles (4-1) defensive lineman Jalen Carter is inactive for Thursday’s Week 6 road contest against the New York Giants (1-4). Carter, listed as questionable coming into the game, is out with a heel injury.

Carter was on the field prior to the game. He had a chat with agent Drew Rosenhaus, and another with general manager Howie Roseman, head coach Nick Sirianni and a few others before walking back into the tunnel without going through a workout, per Mike Garafolo of NFL Network.

Carter, 24, seemed like a long shot to play after the Eagles elevated defensive tackle Gabe Hall from the practice squad for Thursday’s game. Hall will see some snaps, as will rookie Ty Robinson in Carter’s absence.

Carter will now have missed two of the Eagles’ first six games this season. He dressed for the Week 1 game against the Dallas Cowboys (2-2-1) but was ejected before the first play from scrimmage for spitting on quarterback Dak Prescott.

In four games, Carter has compiled 10 tackles (three solo) and 15 pressures. He is still looking for his first sack of the season.
