Jalen Hurts jokingly calls out Michael Jordan: 'I'm still waiting on my pool match with him'

Jalen Hurts wants to take on Michael Jordan. But instead of the football field or basketball court, the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback wants to meet the NBA legend at the pool hall.
Hurts recently met up with the six-time NBA champion in Greece, but they apparently didn’t have time to get a game in. However, he made sure to send Jordan a reminder that he’s serious about the match.
“I’m still waiting on my pool match with him,” Hurts said in a recent interview with Overtime. “He’ll have to catch me on the pool table.”
If not pool, Hurts would also consider taking on Jordan in a game of golf. However, the Eagles QB’s only request would be that he had time to practice.
“He’s a golfer,” he said. “…I’d have to prepare. I wouldn’t go into battle not ready.”
Hurts is part of the Jordan brand and was in Greece to attend Jordan’s “Board of Greatness.” Others in attendance included Lakers star Luka Doncic and former NBA star Carmelo Anthony.
The pair have grown closer this offseason after Hurts led the Eagles to a Super Bowl win against the Kansas City Chiefs. It was his first championship, and perhaps he can gleam even more from Jordan on what it means to be great. Maybe they’ll even get the opportunity to discuss it over a game of pool.
For now, Hurts’ focus will remain on the Eagles with training camp set to begin this week. As for Jordan, he’s gearing up for a role as an analyst for NBC during their NBA coverage for the 2025-26 season in a few months.

Jalen Hurts set to release children’s book ‘Better Than A Touchdown’ in 2026
Hurts also recently announced that he wrote a new children’s book titled “Better Than A Touchdown.” It’s set for a March 10, 2026 release.
Hurts is the credited author of the book with illustrations coming from Nneka Myers. It’s been quite the year for Hurts after he led the Eagles to a Super Bowl LIX win in February, just a couple years removed from a massive contract extension with Philadelphia.
“I’m very excited to share this moment with you guys. It’s always been a dream of mine to have my own children’s book, and I’m blessed to say that dream has become a reality with ‘Better than a Touchdown,’” Hurts said on his Instagram post of the book. “It’s a lot of hard work, a lot of love put into this book. It’s very heartfelt because without the lessons learned, I wouldn’t be here where I am today. So I’m excited to extend those lessons to the next generation, and hopefully it helps lift them just as the many lessons I learned did the same for me.”
The book tells the story of Hurts and his friends, who are excited to begin the school year and try out for the football team. However, the program has been cut so Hurts turns to the community to help save the team.
“‘Better than a Touchdown’ is a love letter to the power of community, being there for one another, and how a piece of good advice can change the course of a day,” the book’s description reads on Penguin Random House. “Told with Jalen’s signature wisdom and gorgeous art by Nneka Myers, Better than a Touchdown carries a message we can all learn from: that by working together, there’s nothing we can’t accomplish.”
