Jalen Milroe addresses NFL Draft invite, ‘wrong’ hand size measurement at Senior Bowl

Jalen Milroe was not originally projected to be a first-round pick in this year’s NFL Draft, but he is one of the 17 prospects invited to the draft in Green Bay on Thursday night. In an interview with DJ Siddiqi of Card Player, Milroe was asked if a team is potentially targeting him in the first round of the draft.
“It isn’t for all of you to know,” Milroe said. “It’s definitely a dream of mine to attend the draft. I’m so excited to seize the opportunity. I’ll be able to tell my family of my own one day that I attended the draft and I’m able to seize every opportunity of it. I’m fulfilling my dream, and I’m going to enjoy every bit of it.”
Jalen Milroe also spoke to Siddiqi about his hand size. At the Senior Bowl, the former Alabama quarterback’s hands measured at 8 3/4 inches, which is considered small in the NFL. But during the Combine, Milroe’s hands measured at 9 3/8, which is considered average size for an NFL QB.
Will Jalen Milroe be a first-round pick in the NFL Draft?
“It was wrong, they did it wrong,” says Milroe while laughing about the measurement at the Senior Bowl. “They just did it wrong.” If Milroe is selected in the first round, it could come from a team with an interesting QB situation. Tyler Sullivan of CBS Sports released his latest mock draft on Saturday and had Milroe being selected by the Los Angeles Rams at No. 26 overall.

“My antenna was raised when I saw that Jalen Milroe was invited to Green Bay for Day 1 of the draft,” Sullivan wrote. “They don’t do that unless they have it on pretty good authority that there’s a possibility he comes off the board, right? Given that he’s more of a project, I think that makes him a fascinating prospect for the Rams to target as Matthew Stafford continues to go year-to-year with the organization.”
Milroe was one of the most dynamic quarterbacks in college football last year. During the 2024 season, he led the team with 726 rushing yards and ranked eighth in the FBS with 20 rushing touchdowns. Milroe also had 2,844 passing yards and 16 passing TDs.
