Report: Jalen Milroe 'gaining steam' in 2025 NFL Draft circles, sets more visits

As Jalen Milroe is “gaining steam” in 2025 NFL Draft circles, he has three more visits coming up, FOX Sports’ Jordan Schultz reported. The former Alabama standout met with the Cleveland Browns earlier this week.
Milroe has meetings in place with the New York Giants, Los Angeles Rams and Seattle Seahawks, according to Schultz. He remains one of the more intriguing prospects on the board with just over two weeks until Draft Day, and he continues to meet with teams before things get underway from Green Bay.
The Athletic’s Dane Brugler also reported Milroe received an invitation from the NFL to attend the draft April 24. That could indicate a potential first-round grade from teams – adding another wrinkle to Milroe’s process.
Milroe and Jaxson Dart previously met with the Browns this week. Cleveland owns the No. 2 overall pick in the first round and the No. 33 pick in the second round, and the franchise could be in the market for a quarterback. The Browns will be without Deshaun Watson due to an Achilles injury and traded for Kenny Pickett, although they could opt to draft a QB, as well.

However, ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. projected Cleveland to pass on Milroe in his two-round Mock Draft 4.0 and instead take Tyler Shough out of Louisville. Instead, he had the New York Giants selecting him at No. 34 overall – and Kiper’s colleague Dan Orlovsky thought that would be an ideal fit for the former Alabama star.
“If I could hand-pick one team for Jalen Milroe, it would be the New York Giants in the second round,” Orlovsky said on NFL Live. “This would be the ideal situation. No. 1, Brian Daboll’s Alabama ties. I remember hearing Nick Saban talk about Jalen Milroe and said, this guy changes the game. I remember Brian Daboll talking about how Nick Saban told him the No. 1 guy he could not stop in college over the past couple years was Jayden Daniels. No. 2, Mel hit it. The impact he had with Josh Allen, but mainly the quarterback run, which gets me to point three – desperation. They’re desperate.
“And if it comes to a point this season where Brian Daboll and Joe Schoen are like, ‘We need to do something to keep our jobs,’ I’d just sit there and go, if you’ve got Jalen Milroe, you can go full Lamar Jackson rookie mode where here it comes 15 times a game. Because this young man, while he’s improving as a passer, is an absolute rocket ship with the ball in his hands. I think he’s got more talent as a thrower than maybe some of the inconsistencies of the season last year showed itself. He’s got to get much, much better in the red zone. But this would be the perfect place for both the player and the organization.”
