Jarvis Brownlee’s stock continues to rise ahead of the 2024 NFL Draft. Last week, Lance Zierlein, a draft analyst for NFL.com, praised the Louisville defensive back’s game ahead of the Reese’s Senior Bowl.

“Brownlee will have to answer questions about whether he can play with speed and poise against deep routes, but his aggression to make plays on throws over the second level showed up on tape and on the field on Wednesday,” Zierlein said. “He had instances where he was basically running the route for receivers.

“He was all over the catch point, putting himself in better position to make a play than the receiver. Brownlee added good weight in his final college season and he’s still very twitchy, as we saw on Wednesday. His hustle to swarm to the football on all plays, regardless of location, is something that teams will really like. He’s still likely to be a Day 3 selection, but he could be pushing himself up the board by a round.”

Brownlee played in 11 games for Louisville this season, making 11 starts. He finished the 2023 campaign with 30 total tackles, six passes defended and one interception. Brownlee was somewhat limited in the final few games of the 2023 season due to a foot injury.

Brownlee’s best season was in 2022, his first with the Cardinals. He amassed career-highs in tackles (66), passes defended (12) and interceptions (2). Prior to transferring to Louisville, Brownlee spent three seasons at Florida State.

On Saturday, Brownlee unofficially added one more interception to his collegiate career. In the second quarter of the Reese’s Senior Bowl, Notre Dame quarterback Sam Hartman launched a dart toward the left sideline.

Before Hartman could blink, Brownlee had the ball and was heading the other way. After a few fancy jukes, Brownlee was able to return the ball nearly 36 yards from where he intercepted it. Zierlein wasn’t the only one who noticed Brownlee’s impressive play.

“He is a very competitive player,” PFF’s Trevor Sikkema wrote. “His may only be 5-foot-10, but his 31.75-inch arms were the longest arms of any cornerback on the American team. Throughout the week, he used those long arms in press coverage and at the catch point. He should be rising up the ranks of big boards and mock drafts.”

The 2024 NFL Draft will be held in Detroit, Michigan, with the first round on Thursday, April 25, the second and third rounds on Friday, April 26, and the fourth through seventh rounds on Saturday, April 27.
