Carolina Panthers cornerback Jaycee Horn suffered a concussion during Monday’s Week 12 road matchup against the San Francisco 49ers. He is out for the remainder of the game, the Panthers announced.

Horn, 25, is the premier player on the Panthers’ defense, and he played like it Monday before exiting the game. He was responsible for two of quarterback Brock Purdy‘s three first half interceptions. Corey Thornton (ankle) has also been declared out, so Carolina is down two cornerbacks.

But down 17-9 entering the fourth quarter, the Panthers will have to mount a comeback without their best player on defense. Horn, Carolina’s 2021 first-round selection out of South Carolina, made his first Pro Bowl in 2024. Horn wrapped up last season with 68 tackles (49 solo), 13 PBUs and one interception.

Horn entered Monday’s game with 24 tackles (15 solo), four PBUs and three interceptions. After Monday’s two-interception game, Horn is now tied for the league lead in interceptions.
