A massive hit into the wall for Jeb Burton will end his night and his quest to make the NASCAR Xfinity Series Playoffs. He couldn’t run down his little cousin, Harrison Burton, for the final transfer spot into the postseason.

Jordan Anderson Racing has had two right front failures. Jordan Anderson had a similar issue that took him out of the race at the end of Stage 1. Lapp 111 was where Jeb Burton had his issue.

This race has been dominated by Connor Zilisch. Does this open the door for chaos late?

It was going to be an uphill battle to make the playoffs on points. Harrison Burton had a sizeable advantage going into the race. But it wasn’t impossible for Jeb Burton. With the 27 out of the race, the 25 car is going to advance to the playoffs, but only if there isn’t another new winner.

For the moment, it doesn’t look like there will be a new winner in this race. Connor Zilisch is dominating, and Jesse Love, Aric Almirola, and Brandon Jones are chasing right now. With this being the regular season finale, we are likely going to see more fireworks before the end of the race.

Jeb Burton out, Harrison Burton holding on

You never want to say never, but it doesn’t appear Harrison Burton will be bumped out of the NASCAR Playoffs. When he lost his Cup Series job last year, it was a real hit to his career. But he’s still very young and can rebuild. That starts by building up AM Racing.

Jeb Burton’s misfortune is his cousin’s comfort tonight. The 25 team can now race aggressively and freely since they don’t have to fend off the 27 team anymore. When it comes to making the playoffs or missing it, these drivers are willing to do whatever it takes to not be left out. But, as it showed with Jeb, you never know when misfortune will show up.

Jordan Anderson Racing has good race cars and good drivers. They had a few good moments this season. Missing the playoffs is tough, but they will be back and likely better in 2026.
