Jerry Jones addresses Dan Snyder's potential sale of Washington Commanders

Leading up to his Dallas Cowboys‘ Week 18 matchup versus the Commanders, team owner Jerry Jones spoke with sideline reporter Kristi Scales about Washington owner Dan Snyder’s potential sale of the franchise. Snyder hired Bank of America to help broker potential transactions in November and began receiving bids upwards of $7 billion, according to reports from December.
Jones denied any knowledge of when the Commanders’ owner may go through with a sale.
“First of all, I don’t know,” Jones said. “I have no knowledge of anything, I just don’t. Haven’t talked to anybody that does. Of course, we always have to remember what everybody’s focused on is the franchise, not the owner, not league policy, what you want.
“Washington has always had and can have great ownership so candidly, I’m not worried about that. I think that will find its own level, we’ll see as time goes along how the Washington team fares. With all this support, the nation’s capitol, this great market up here, it’s one of the best franchises in the country.”
Dallas needs a win versus Washington on Sunday, as well as a loss by Philadelphia, to grab the NFC East title.

Snyder nearing sale of Commanders
Snyder originally bought the franchise for a then-record-setting $800 million in 1999. Ahead of the potential sale, Front Office Sports tweeted that Forbes recently valued the Commanders franchise at $5.6, meaning the sale of the team would be the most expensive thus far.
Pressure both from the public and fellow owners for the Snyders to vamoose from the league has grown in years and ratcheted up throughout the season. Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay has spoken publicly about how perhaps enough owners wish to eschew the owners of the lately scandal-ridden Washington franchise.
In October, Snyder allegedly threatened to have dirt on many people across the National Football League. Per a report by ESPN, Synder believed he has collected plenty of dirt on names across NFL front offices through the use of private investigators from his law firms. It’s a tactic that the article said Snyder does when he’s ‘cornered’ but, nonetheless, he believed the information would be able to “blow up” several NFL owners, the league office, and even commissioner Roger Goodell.
