The Dallas Cowboys receiver duo of CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens did not see the field on the first drive of Monday’s 33-16 Week 11 road win over the Las Vegas Raiders. Head coach Brian Schottenheimer called it a “coach’s decision.”

Team owner/general manager Jerry Jones addressed the situation Monday on 105.3 The Fan in Dallas. According to Jon Machota of The Athletic, Jones said it was an “in-house issue,” adding that it “had to do with meeting type discipline” and that they “had a late problem there.” Schottenheimer had said that “some things were missed.”

“There were some things that were missed, so had a conversation with those guys and that was easy,” Schottenheimer said. “But you look at the energy those guys play with, they literally jump-started the offense when they got back in. They didn’t hang their heads, didn’t do any of that stuff. That’s why I love those guys, man.”

Pickens and Lamb after the game were both asked about the “coach’s decision.” Lamb declined to get into it, while Pickens shared a different explanation than Schottenheimer.

“Certain personnels we kind of thought they was going to come out in certain stuff, but they didn’t,” Pickens said. “They started kind of hunching down on the run, so we started throwing it around a little bit.”

Lamb and Pickens were on the field for the rest of the game after sitting on the sideline for the first three plays. Together, they combined for 14 receptions for 210 yards and two touchdowns. Pickens led the way with nine catches for 144 yards and a score.

“Two elite guys that complement each other, that build off of each other’s energy,” quarterback Dak Prescott said. “One go makes a play, the other one wants to make a play. Tonight was fun. As I’ve always said, I’m just trying to get the ball out of my hands to these guys, be like a point guard and let them go do what they do best. Tonight was a good example of that.”
