Jerry Jones: Micah Parsons performance left him 'feeling good' about Cowboys trade

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones had some interesting things to say about Green Bay Packers pass rusher Micah Parsons after the teams played against each other on Sunday. While appearing on 105.3 The Fan in Dallas, Jones was asked how Parsons performed against his former team and if he felt justified by the trade.
“That’s a good test out there, when you don’t have a player anymore,” Jerry Jones said, per Jon Machota of The Athletic. “He’s lining up directly against you, plus you don’t have him on your defensive side of the ball. That’s a real good test. And I’m glad that everybody got to see it. It left me feeling good about our trade.”
Micah Parsons finished the game (which ended in a 40-40 tie) with three tackles, one sack, and three quarterback hits. He had the Packers’ only sack, which came in overtime when he took down Cowboys QB Dak Prescott. It was a big play as the Cowboys were at the Packers’ four-yard line, and Prescott was looking to run it in for a game-winning TD before Parsons took him down.
Jerry Jones liked how the Cowboys played against Micah Parsons
“I like the way that we got ready to play him. We played him, we ran at him, but we knew he was there and he made a difference…” Jones said about Parsons after the game, per Tommy Yarrish of Cowboys.com. “Whether we like it or not, I’ll take my side of it, and Green Bay can have their side of it.”

After the game, Parsons talked about allowing the Cowboys to score 40 points. “Giving up 40 points, bro, I don’t care where we’re playing. That’s just unacceptable for me and everyone,” Parsons said, per Wes Hodkiewicz of Packers.com. “I’m not even pointing fingers, just like, we got to find a way to get off the field, and we didn’t do a great job at that tonight.”
Before the 2025 season kicked off, the Packers acquired Parsons from the Cowboys for two first-round picks and defensive lineman Kenny Clark. Through four games, Parsons has recorded eight tackles and 2.5 sacks. Parsons spent four seasons with the Cowboys and was selected to the Pro Bowl every year.
