Jerry Jones dropped a fascinating analogy for what it’s like to win a major sports championship on Friday.

During the parade for the Texas Rangers after their World Series win, Jones was in a celebratory mood and spoke with a local radio show regarding what it means to capture a title. Well, the thought was there, but perhaps the Dallas Cowboys owner would’ve liked to use a different vernacular for his statement.

Check it out below, as Jones described winning a championship as an “absolute glory hole” on Friday.

“Sports, the rough times that you have with sports, everybody has it. Everybody. You can’t really play unless you have some hard times. But it is the absolute glory hole, to have that elusive win, to be the champion,” Jones explained, via 103.5 The Fan. “I’m so proud for every fan that’s out here, that’s headed that way, and the ones that are at home. I’m proud for every one of them. It’s really been, I might say, one of the reasons, that I wanted to spend my every day in life, in the world of sports.”

Alas, this isn’t even the first time Jones has described success as a glory hole, in fairness. Over a decade ago, he spoke about returning the Cowboys to their past glory, and described it as a level the team would like to get back to.

“I’ve been here when it was glory hole days and I’ve been here when it wasn’t,” Jones said, over a decade ago. “Having said that, I want me some glory hole.”

Of course, Jones is 81 years old. Sayings don’t always remain the same over a long period of time. Who knows what glory hole meant back in his heyday. Nevertheless, the sentiment is there, and Cowboys fans would agree.

It’s been a while since Dallas has felt Jones’ perceived idea of a glory hole. Regardless, the Cowboys will have a shot to get back there this season, and they’re once again among the top teams in the NFC.

This weekend, they’ll have a shot to prove their mettle, as Dallas is facing their rivals in the Philadelphia Eagles. It’ll be a hotly contested matchup, and one the entire NFL can’t wait to see.

We’ll be watching to see who comes out on top, and so will Jerry Jones. We can’t wait to hear what he has cooked up if Dallas is victorious in Week 9.
