Jerry Jones passes on fielding media questions following loss to Panthers

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones made an interesting decision after his team lost to the Carolina Panthers on Sunday. Per Clarence Hill of All City DLLS, Jones chose not to speak to the media after he game.
Jerry Jones normally speaks to reporters after each game. It’s not clear why he didn’t make himself available to the media on Sunday, but he can’t be happy with the way the Cowboys played, especially on defense.
Dallas allowed 410 yards on defense, and 216 of those yards were on the ground. Panthers running back Rico Dowdle, who spent the previous five seasons with the Cowboys, rushed for 183 yards on 30 carries in the 30-27 victory. That is the second-highest rushing total for Dowdle in his career. The most was last week when he rushed for 205 yards against the Miami Dolphins.
It’s been a tough 2025 season for Jerry Jones
While Jones didn’t say anything after the game, Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer told reporters that they let the game slip away from them. “That locker room’s hurt — I’m hurt,” Schottenheimer said, per Patrik Walker of DallasCowboys.com. “Why? Because we let an opportunity slip, another championship opportunity, and it’s frustrating as hell. But you don’t point fingers, you know? You look at the film, and we’re gonna see it. It’s gonna jump off the film, the things that we didn’t do well, and we’ll get them fixed. And I don’t worry about this team starting to point fingers in any way, shape, or form.”

It’s has not been a great 2025 for Jones, who took a lot of heat for trading All-Pro edge rusher Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers before the start of the season. Along with all the issues going on with his team, the NFL fined Jones $250,000 for making an obscene gesture towards fans after the Cowboys’ win over the New York Jets last Sunday.
“(The gesture) was inadvertent on my part because that was right after we made our last touchdown, and we were all excited about it,” Jones said during his appearance on 105.3 The Fan in Dallas, per NFL.com. “There wasn’t any antagonistic issue or anything like that. I just put up the wrong show on the hand.”
