Jerry Jones reacts to Micah Parsons' Packers debut, recovery from back injury

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones had an interesting response about Micah Parsons‘ debut with the Green Bay Packers on Sunday. While appearing on 105.3 The Fan on Tuesday, Jones talked about watching Parsons in the season opener.
“From what I saw of him, I thought he was able to get in there and play without any influence from his back, and I say that with a straight face. I do,” Jerry Jones said, per Todd Archer of ESPN. “Having said that, wish him well.”
The Cowboys traded Micah Parsons to the Packers a week before the season kicked off. Before the trade, Parsons was not practicing with the Cowboys, as he said he was dealing with a back injury. Parsons was also seeking a contract extension with Dallas and publicly asked for a trade. That has led some to believe that the All-Pro pass rusher said he had a back injury so he would not be fined for not participating in training camp.
Micah Parsons was productive in Packers debut
Last week, ESPN reported that Parsons was dealing with an L4/L5 joint sprain in his back. He was limited to 45 percent of the defensive snaps in the game against the Lions and finished with one sack and three defensive pressures.

“I didn’t even get to really burst out yet, you know what I mean,” Parsons said after the game on Sunday, per ESPN. “I’m going to keep getting better. There’s a lot of things that I want to fix. I feel like I didn’t have a complete game and, obviously, that’s going to happen not playing for six months. But I can take this and build on it, and we’re going to be a really good football team.”
After Parsons was traded to the Packers, he signed a four-year, $188 million contract extension. And now that the season has started, Parsons is ready to move forward.
“I’m telling you, these last six months were super draining, super toxic for everyone,” Parsons said. “It’s something that I don’t think no player should have to go through. I think players’ fates should be decided earlier. I think the fact that I was traded a week before the season was really outrageous and rough.”
