Joey Logano in-car camera reveals what led to Ross Chastain dumping him in Chicago Street Race

Ross Chastain dumped Joey Logano in Turn 2 off the Lap 63 restart of Sunday’s Chicago Street Race. The onboard footage has since been revealed, showing what led to the incident late in the race.
The field got bunched up heading into Turn 1. Essentially, it was bumper cars, and Chastain ended up sliding into the tire barriers. Logano was running directly behind Chastain, though it looked like Kyle Larson made contact with Chastain’s left rear. Chastain, however, decided to turn Logano.
According to Jeff Gluck of The Athletic, there were no communications from Chastain’s team that would have suggested Logano was at fault. So, he appeared to be acting independently.
Logano was heated with Chastain after the incident: “Ross better get the f*cking information right before he goes and wrecks somebody. And there’s f*cking six cars behind me wrecking into me, and then he destroys me from four back. That motherf*cker.”
Joey Logano calls on NASCAR to fine Ross Chastain after Chicago wreck
Chastain raced his way to a 10th place finish. Logano managed to finish one spot behind Chastain as the two drivers found a way to a pair of quality finishes in downtown Chicago. But afterwards, Logano’s anger had not yet subsided. He shared a conversation with Chastain on pit road and then told Bob Pockrass of FOX Sports that Chastain admitted to him he wrecked him on purpose. Logano called for NASCAR to fine Chastain.

“Do I think so? Yes, he admitted he wrecked me on purpose,” Logano said. “He admitted it. Which means he should get fined if he admittedly wrecked someone on purpose. That’s not OK.”
Logano has had more than one run-in with Chastain this season. That’s part of the reason he was so upset after the race.
“Typical Ross,” Logano said. “He just sees red and does dumb stuff. That’s all. That’s twice this year on road courses at the end of these things I’ve been cost by Ross. I’m just over it.”
