Back in 2023, Joey Logano started on the pole at Atlanta and led the most laps on his way to the win. He’s back on pole today. Logano has won twice at Atlanta since the new reconfiguration. With a win at Texas earlier this NASCAR season, Logano is looking for another.

The NASCAR Cup Series qualifying session almost got canceled due to lightning. However, after a brief delay, the session continued.

Josh Berry, Ryan Blaney, and Austin Cindric will start P2, P3, and P4. A good qualifying day for Joey Logano, Team Penske, and Wood Brothers Racing. Tomorrow’s race is going to be a fun one.

“Well, you know, we all have the same things, and obviously, Team Penske does a great job of building the same cars, it seems like,” Logano said on the TNT Sports broadcast. “All of us in the top four there. Proud of everyone at the shop, proud of Roush Yates Engines. This is always a test of, you know, like you said, how close you can build all the cars, but how much speed you can put in them. So, yeah, they’re fast for qualifying, we’ll see what we got in the race. But neat to have AutoTrader up front again.”

Joey Logano is looking forward to having a great pit stall. He’s also hoping his Penske teammates can help make his job easier on Saturday night.

“Well, obviously, got good pit stalls. That’s going to be great. This is a really tight pit road that we’re standing on right now, stalls are super small. So, that should help with that. Obviously, with track position. Then keeping numbers together and help control the race is a huge deal. So, we’re all there to start, a million things can happen throughout the race, but we can control what we can control today, and tomorrow we’ll try to work our strategy the best we can.”

Ford was strong once again. Eight in the top-10 for tomorrow’s race.

Joey Logano led the most laps at Atlanta earlier this season. He finished P12 overall. Since then, he has managed to turn his season around with a win at Texas. He sits 10th in points overall. I have a feeling he is going to be in the mix for the win on Saturday night.

Ultimately, Logano’s biggest competition might be his teammates. Josh Berry won a stage at Atlanta earlier this season. Ryan Blaney was P4. We know that Cindric can get the job done at these drafting tracks. So, we’ll see.
