Jordan Love injury update: Packers QB receives MRI results
In the Green Bay Packers’ 30-27 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, Packers quarterback Jordan Love was forced to leave the game after suffering a groin injury. On Monday, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport provided an update on Love’s condition.
“Jordan Love’s MRI came back with some good news. It’s a strained groin, nothing major. No surprise,” Rapoport wrote on X. “He’ll get better every day and do treatment and monitor throughout the week.”
Love initially sustained the injury in the opening drive of the game but he played through the pain and remained in the game. However, after his first snap of the second half, Love limped to the sideline and didn’t return.
Before leaving the game, Love completed 14-of-his-22 pass attempts for 196 yards. He failed to record a touchdown but threw one interception. Rapoport’s report is welcome news after Packers head coach Matt LaFleur seemed extremely concerned about Love’s injury.
“Obviously high level of concern …. I think everybody could see him struggling to move around and I just got to a point where we didn’t, he didn’t feel like he could protect himself,” LaFleur said after the game, per Rob Demovsky of ESPN.

This injury is Love’s second of the season. The fifth-year QB also suffered a knee injury in the Packers’ Week 1 loss to the Eagles, which sidelined him for two games.
Love has been electric since his return, boosting the Packers to a 6-2 overall record. In a mere six appearances, Love has amassed 1,547 passing yards and 15 touchdowns while only throwing nine interceptions.
On Sunday, the Packers will look to extend their win streak as they square off against the Detroit Lions at 4:25 p.m. ET. The game will air live on FOX.
