For the first time since 2021, Josh Bilicki is going full-time racing in NASCAR. This time, in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series. Bilicki will pilot the No. 07 for SS GreenLight Racing for the 2026 season.

Josh Bilicki is a journeyman driver. He’s made the most of what he can get when he can get it. In 2022, Spire had him in the 77 for a bulk of races. Live Fast has leaned on Bilicki in the past for a few races in the Cup Series. The last time he was full-time in the O’Reilly Series was in 2018 with JP Motorsports.

SS GreenLight Racing and Bilicki have a relationship going back to 2021 in the O’Reilly Series. They have joined forces on a part-time schedule in the last few years. Now, SSGLR and Bilicki are making things official for the entire season.

During his career, Josh Bilicki has not earned a lot of flashy accolades. However, he has been able to earn the respect of his peers and is a driver who, on a full-time basis, could improve an organization like SS GreenLight.

On the road courses, Bilicki typically shines the most in the O’Reilly Series. With DGM Racing and Joe Gibbs Racing in 2024, he earned top-10s at the Roval and Watkins Glen, respectively.

SS GreenLight had Garrett Smithley in the No. 14 for most of the season this year. He had ups and downs and the team failed to qualify for a couple of races. A top-10 at Daytona in the summer was the highlight for that group.

The No. 07 in 2025 earned one top-10 finish at the Daytona season opener. Alex Labbe did very well in the car for COTA, Mexico City, and Chicago.

Josh Bilicki gets full-time opportunity

Racing is about repetition. Oval racing, perhaps more so in many ways than other kinds of racing. Getting seat time equal to or greater than the drivers you are racing against is key to succeeding in a sport like NASCAR. We hear it from drivers all the time, getting out of the car, even for a little bit of time, can hurt your results.

For Josh Bilicki, the chance to race full-time is a great opportunity. He is 30 years old, and hasn’t had a full-time season in four years, seven if you go back to his last full-time O’Reilly Series season. The pressure will be low considering the expectations for SSGLR, but this team will still try to improve on last season and improve throughout the 2026 season as well.

For SSGLR, it might be clear that they need to start putting full-time drivers in the car to see improvement. They did have Smithley in the 14 car for most of 2025. I’m not sure if the program did get better overall, but it at least provided consistency on a weekly basis.

It will be interesting to see what Josh Bilicki can do at SSGLR. He will be at a disadvantage compared to many in the field, but that’s where we will, hopefully, get to see his talent and leadership emerge with this 07 group.
