Good news for Josh Williams and DGM Racing. Williams is back with the team full-time for the 2026 O’Reilly Auto Parts Series season. The NASCAR fan favorite is going to be joined by none other than Steve Addington, former crew chief for Tony Stewart.

Steve Addington has been around DGM Racing a little bit in 2025. Now, he moves up to full-time. He last worked full-time as a crew chief for Blaine Perkins at RSS Racing for the 2024 season. With 11 wins in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series and 20 in the Cup Series, Addington has tons of experience to help the No. 92 team in 2026.

Josh Williams went to Kaulig Racing for a couple of seasons. It didn’t work out. Now, he goes back to DGM, a familiar place, to start building himself back up again.

When you look at the 2023 season with DGM Racing compared to 2024 and 2025 with Kaulig Racing, Josh Williams might just be better off going to his old team. He went from 21st in points with DGM to 18th in points with Kaulig. Three top-10s to four top-10s.

I think Williams and drivers like him thrive in certain situations. DGM Racing might just be the perfect situation for Williams. Fans like rooting for this underdog duo and next season will be no different.

Josh Williams joined by Steve Addington for 2026

I believe the addition of Steve Addington is going to really make this deal great. Josh Williams is a driver willing to listen and learn. In Addington, he gets to learn from one of the best and a real winner at the O’Reilly Series level.

Williams has had a few bright spots in his career. His top-10 at New Hampshire in 2023 was one of those races that made you wonder, what if he were in better equipment? There’s a part of me that also thinks Williams got a raw deal. He went to Kaulig as the program was consistently falling off the pace it once had and now the program has dissolved completely.

I’m not trying to vacate blame from Williams. He had moments to step up and make a statement in the Kaulig cars. It shouldn’t have been as difficult as it was for him in the beginning. He did fight through some serious illness at one point. It really comes down to just one of those deals that didn’t work out.

Moving forward to 2026, Josh Williams has another opportunity. He is back in the No. 92 car and is going to have a new season to prove the doubters wrong.
