Josh Williams reacts to getting released by Kaulig Racing

NASCAR Xfinity Series driver Josh Williams has reacted to being released by Kaulig Racing. Shortly after the announcement, Williams issued a statement saying that he “will be back soon.”
“As most of you have seen, Kaulig Racing has made the decision to release me for the remainder of the season,” Williams said in a statement on social media. “This has been a difficult day for my family, friends, long-time partners and fans, whom I can’t thank enough for standing by my side through all of this. We will be back soon and looking forward to a much brighter chapter in my racing career. I wish nothing but the best for my guys on the 11 team.”
Josh Williams has driven the No. 11 Chevrolet for Kaulig Racing in the Xfinity Series since the 2024 season. During that time, the 31-year-old has earned six top-10 finishes in 54 starts. Williams recorded a 21.7 average finish last year and a 20.0 average through 21 starts this year.
Now, the question is who will drive the No. 11 Chevrolet for the rest of the Xfinity season? “Kaulig Racing will field the No. 11 Chevrolet with multiple drivers over the remaining 12 NASCAR Xfinity Series races,” the team said in a statement. “More announcements regarding the driver will be forthcoming.”

Williams has made 240 starts in his Xfinity Series career and has earned 16 top-10 finishes. His best finish was sixth in 2020 at Kansas Speedway. He also finished sixth at Charlotte in May of this year. Williams has also competed in five Cup Series races and two Truck Series races.
Earlier this year, Williams, who battled pneumonia, talked about doing everything he could to reach the playoffs. “I mean, we need to make the playoffs for sure. I think that’s achievable,” Williams said, per NASCAR.com. “We’re running out of time, but I think that’s achievable. You know, some of the tracks where I thought that we would really strive, like Bristol and Martinsville, we weren’t as good as I thought we were going to be. But we’ve got some good tracks coming up that I enjoy up until the playoffs. “
