Josh Williams wants grass removed at Texas Motor Speedway

This NASCAR weekend, the grass at Texas Motor Speedway has caused problems. Josh Williams would like to see it removed completely. Williams was involved in an 11-car wreck on the first restart for Stage 3 today at Texas.
Josh Williams was taken out of the race by the restart fiasco. The Kaulig Racing driver then spoke to the media after he left the infield care center.
“Yeah, I mean, we’re all so close, and a couple of guys in front of me were deeper in the grass than I was,” Williams said via Stephen Stumpf of Frontstretch. “I don’t know, we caught the short end of it and just unfortunate. I hate it.”
So, what about the grass? Williams would prefer if it were paved. He and a few others this weekend, more than likely.
“It’d be nice if it was paved,” Williams said when asked. “I don’t know. I’ve seen so many people do it, we even talked about it before the race even started. So, unfortunately, I was that guy.”
The grass at Texas has had a long history of big moments. Dale Earnhardt Jr. learned the hard way during his career. This is just a new generation of drivers learning the same lesson.

Grass takes out Josh Williams, others at Texas
The infield grass at Texas has once again caused a massive NASCAR wreck. This time, just as the Xfinity Series started Stage 3. Getting ready to go into the final leg of the race, a couple of drivers dipped down into the grass and from there, chaos.
We saw it in the Truck Series race last night, and we have seen it happen again in the Xfinity Series. This grass is public enemy number one for drivers in Fort Worth right now.
Something about this Texas grass keeps pulling NASCAR drivers in. In this case, it caused a wreck that collected a total of 11 cars. A few are done for the day. This race is becoming a battle of attrition.
The NASCAR weekend at Texas has been all about the grass. For some reason, despite the infield remaining more or less unchanged since the track opened, drivers are hitting the grass a ton this year.
