A huge wreck in the front of the NASCAR Xfinity Series field at Atlanta. The red flag is now out for cleanup following the chaos. Justin Allgaier was side-drafting off of Cole Custer for second place and before you knew it, the field was wrecking.

A lot of fast cars were wrecked during this mayhem. Cole Custer, Taylor Gray, Riley Herbst, Ryan Sieg, Jesse Love, and others were somehow involved one way or another.

This opens the door for Austin Hill, as well as some spoilers. Corey Heim could take an auto-bid away from a full-time driver by winning. Brandon Jones or Parker Kligerman could upset the field and punch themselves firmly into the playoffs.

The last thing you want to see as you’re in the top-5 with less than 20 laps to go.

Contact was made with Cole Custer up front and then there was a little bit of contact with Taylor Gray from behind. Allgaier claims that he lost his right front tire after hitting Custer and blamed that for the wreck.

Atlanta was bound to cause a moment like this. With how easily this race could have ended up being a caution-fest, it was relatively clean. Good racing throughout the day, but sometimes, racing gets too aggressive and moments like this happen.

This now sets us up for the end of the race. It’s going to be a 13-lap battle to the finish line with Chandler Smith and Austin Hill up front. There is surely going to be more chaos and likely another wreck or two, before we crown a winner today.

Austin Hill takes advantage after Justin Allgaier wreck

Well, the Xfinity Series field was able to keep it clean. Despite having cars sliding all around the track and even Corey Heim getting into the wall, we did not see another caution flag after the red flag was lifted and racing resumed.

With the win today, Austin Hill sweeps Atlanta in the NASCAR Xfinity Series season and makes history at the same time. Somehow, someway, this 21 car finds itself in the front of these drafting tracks.

Austin Hill now has three wins on the season. It’s hard to believe but he hadn’t won a race since that first trip to Atlanta. This is exactly what this team needed as they head into the playoffs.

Hill has tied Dale Earnhardt Jr. for third all-time in drafting track wins in the Xfinity Series with seven. Tony Stewart and Dale Earnhardt Sr. each have eight.
