Justin Marks, Trackhouse Racing confirm Daniel Suárez departure after 2025 NASCAR season

Daniel Suárez confirmed a rumor that’s been swirling all season long on Tuesday, as he revealed he’s leaving Trackhouse Racing at the conclusion of the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series season. Suárez and Trackhouse “mutually agreed to part ways,” the 33-year-old announced, and the later team confirmed in a statement.
“Trackhouse and I have mutually agreed to part ways at the end of the 2025 season. I’ve had some of the best years of my Cup Series career at Trackhouse. We had great successes as a team and I gained some incredible friends,” Suárez wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter). “We took a team nobody had even heard of in 2021 and in just a couple of years we were winning races and running upfront on a weekly basis.
“Just like the seasons in a year, sometimes things change and we have agreed to each go in our own direction. I wish Trackhouse nothing but the best, this 99 team will always be special to me. And like I always say, the best is ahead.”
After Suárez’s statement went wide, Justin Marks of Trackhouse made sure to point out his gratitude for his driver’s contributions over the last couple of years. Their partnership ran its course, but it’s evident the owner appreciates everything the Mexico native accomplished for the No. 99 Chevrolet team.
“The role Daniel has played in the Trackhouse origin story and its first five years will remain a valued part of the company’s history forever,” Marks’ statement read, via X. “His commitment, work ethic and dedication to the effort is one of the most impressive things I personally have seen in my career. We will forever be thankful and honored that Daniel chose to spend many incredible years with us.

“We are proud of his wins, his successes, the growth of his brand, and his emergence as a valuable athlete in America’s greatest motorsport. But, most of all, I’m proud of him as a friend. I’m truly excited to see what awaits him in the next chapter of his amazing career. We are grateful for the professionalism, effort and heart he’s brought to our organization.”
Suárez broke through and won two races for Trackhouse during his five seasons with the team — the 2022 Toyota/Save Mart 350 at Sonoma, and the 2024 Ambetter Health 400 at Atlanta. His best finish is 2025 was second, which came at Las Vegas Motor Speedway earlier in March.
Moving forward, Trackhouse is expected to promote wunderkind Connor Zilisch to Suárez’s seat, although nothing has been made official. He’ll join a team that features Shane van Gisbergen, who won in NASCAR’s trip to Suarez’s native country of Mexico earlier in June, and Ross Chastain, who made it to Victory Lane in the Coca-Cola 600 over Memorial Day Weekend.
What the future holds for Daniel Suárez remains to be seen. He’ll likely be the top free agent available, but there aren’t many seats slated to be open, especially in the Cup Series. Regardless, he’s proven his worth over five seasons at Trackhouse Racing, and it’s evident they’ll continue to hold each other in high esteem moving forward.
