In another edition of the Battle of the Harvicks, Keelan got the best of his dad, Kevin Harvick, once again. This time up in Washington at Evergreen Speedway. The NASCAR champion once again failed to beat his 12-year-old son in Pro Late Model action.

The development of Keelan Harvick continues. He is racing in the CARS Tour, of which his dad is a co-owner, on both the East and West Coasts. The young Harvick has had a good deal of success.

Keelan didn’t match his win from Kern Raceway, but he did get the best of his dad and finished P2 overall. Not a bad night. Haeden Playbon was the winner of the CARS Tour West Pro Late Model race.

Kevin Harvick is down 0-2 right now against Keelan. That isn’t something I thought we would see at this point in either’s career. Yes, Kevin doesn’t race every week anymore, and a lot of racing is about consistency and repetition. But it is shocking, nonetheless.

It won’t be long before we see Keelan racing short tracks and road courses in ARCA and the Truck Series. Just a few more years at this point.

Kevin Harvick going head-to-head with Keelan

This isn’t the last time that Kevin and Keelan Harvick will line up against each other this year. These two are going to be going at it multiple times. They will be racing CARS Tour events on both coasts throughout 2025.

The Harvicks are doing a lot of work to get this West series up and running. West Coast stock car racing needs this CARS Tour series right now. Having Kevin and Keelan competing against each other at these races is going to bring attention both in the stands at the track and at home on FloRacing. They need both right now.

The CARS Tour puts on fantastic racing. It is some of the best, most competitive short-track racing that you will see anywhere. It is no coincidence that the series has been producing a lot of great young drivers recently.

Josh Berry is the best example, of course. But you have drivers like Carson Kvapil, Kaden Honeycutt, Layne Riggs, Brenden “Butterbean” Queen, and more who have gone on to rise up the ranks of NASCAR. Maybe Kevin Harvick can help make the West series the next pipeline to the big league.
