Keelan Harvick leads as CARS Tour Pro Late Model field wrecks on restart at Cordele

Halfway through this CARS Tour Pro Late Model race, Keelan Harvick leads, but most of the field just got wadded up in a crash. A massive wreck on a restart has caused damage to about a dozen cars.
This is Keelan Harvick’s CARS Tour debut. He’s racing the No. 62 Rackley WAR car. It is actually a bit of a throwback paint scheme to his dad, Kevin Harvick, when he drove the No. 2 truck in the Truck Series. EZGO was a sponsor for Kevin and is now for Keelan as well.
Well, the 12-year-old son of a NASCAR champion was leading this Pro Late Model race at Cordele Motor Speedway at the time of this wreck. Let me remind you, he’s only been racing full-body stock cars for a few months now.
Massive wreck. Race still has plenty of laps to go.
So, Keelan Harvick lost the lead once this race restarted again. A bit of a botched restart caused him to get passed by others. Colin Allman has taken the lead with Hudson Bulger, Tristan McKee, Jett Noland, and Harvick trailing.
McKee is a 14-year-old development driver for Spire Motorsports. He is a name to watch for in a couple of years in ARCA and the Truck Series.
Keelan Harvick started this race on the pole. He is going to have to work very hard to get himself back to the lead. If he is patient and takes care of his tires, he might be able to do it. Already quite a debut for the CARS Tour at Cordele and for Keelan in this series.

Keelan Harvick is taking the next step
Racing full body stock cars is a huge step up for Keelan Harvick. Coming from his Legend Cars, the Limited Late Model and Pro Late Model cars are a new challenge. One that he has taken in stride. He has been very impressive already with just a few races under his belt.
Later this year, Kevin Harvick will race against his son. That’s right, father against son. That will be a great learning opportunity for the young Harvick as he learns how to race against his dad. Which better be with the utmost respect.
Keelan Harvick is a talented driver. He also has help from his dad, Rodeny Childers, and many others that have been through around the NASCAR block once or twice or 20 times.
All eyes are on the young driver in the No. 62. His dad is the big name, but Keelan is starting to make one for himself.
